General Motors Truck Company (GMC) has set a new record for themselves with the 2020 Yukon AT4, a powerful beast of a vehicle that combines the highest technological features with refined interior spaces to conquer the most undisturbed landscapes, steepest inclines, and muddy dips with a rugged capability that stands unmatched. The Yukon AT4 is GMC’s latest addition to its AT4 vehicle lineup and it ups the ante for providing the most capable off-road experience with its combination of premium amenities and robust features. The latest generation of the Yukon with its AT4 trim commands all the attention with its bold presence and sharp design, smooth off-road abilities, and cutting-edge technology.
The Yukon AT4 is proof that an SUV does not need to compromise on refinement to deliver high performance. The SUV oozes confidence and athleticism with every detail, and with its tall stance, the front fascia has a dark chrome finish grille and a glossy black front bumper. The front is designed to showcase the strength of the vehicle and the 32-degree front approach angle also functions to help the SUV climb steep grades. Some key functional features in the Yukon AT4’s front include the horizontal torch-red recovery hooks and the skid plate. The car has a new style of signature C-shaped LED headlamps which have a unique laser-etched texture.
The black roof rails and assist steps add to the Yukon’s dark look and the carbon gray metallic 20-inch six-spoke machined-aluminum wheels and the 20-inch Goodyear all-terrain tires that give better traction for driving off the road.
The interior of the Yukon AT4 gives a sporty look with its aluminum accents and high-quality materials. The seats are fitted with perforated leather and the first and second rows have the Brandy accent stitching and color scheme with the AT4 logo embroidered on the head restraints. The Yukon has a heated steering wheel, first-row buckets, standard second-row power-release bench, and second-row bucket outboard seats.
As expected, the interiors are roomy and allow you to carry a lot of luggage with an expandable third-row power-folding bench seat for holding extra-large cargo. While traveling, small items like keys, a wallet, or a cellphone can be stored away easily in the convenient power-sliding center console. The valet mode allows owners to make the console storage inaccessible.
High power off-road performance:
The Yukon AT4 is built for maximum adventure and to take on even the roughest of terrains with ease. It comes with a 5.3-liter Ecotec V8 engine that gives 383 lb.-ft of torque and a horsepower of 335. The engine has a smooth 10-speed automatic transmission that delivers power in a variety of situations with ease. The built-in AutoTrac 2-speed transfer case with low-range gearing allows for even more torque to the vehicle when going up steep surfaces.
The new Active Response 4WD System gives more control in slippery or off-road terrains by detecting which wheels need the most grip and directs the torque there. The Hill Descent Control features use anti-lock braking technology to allows for a smoother, more controlled descent when in uneven terrain that removes the need for repeatedly pushing the brakes.
The Magnetic Ride Control feature allows better performance and has been improved to accompany the Air Ride Adaptive Suspension. Combined, these two give better ground clearance and the Magnetic Ride Control analyzes the road surface every millisecond and adapts the suspension and damper settings to fit it in real-time.
The advanced technology of the Yukon AT4 allows its passengers and driver to experience a smooth and refined ride whether they are on the road or off the road.
